Description

Job Summary: The Audit Clerk will be responsible for all aspects of managing the money room including collecting money from drivers and verifying totals match deposit slips. Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Lives and models BROWN VALUES in everything we do.
  • Check in drivers’ money bags, keys, and petty cash daily
  • Sorts coins to denomination using a coin-separating machine
  • Removes counterfeit and mutilated coins
  • Feeds coins into hopper of counting machine that counts and bags coins
  • Wraps currency, using currency wraps, and places bundles of currency into bags or boxes for deposit
  • Records machine totals, shortages or overages, and kind of value of coins and currency removed from circulation.
  • Verifies totals against deposit slips and prepares coins and currency for shipment.
  • Analyze, research, and resolve variances
  • Prepares and issues bags of coins for replacement of vending machine bill changer funds.
  • Records total collection by route and reconcile with tape from coin sorting machine.
  • Ensure proper controls (signature requirements, timely funds return, key control) as per company guidelines.
  • Audits the cash room daily
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs. continuously.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and climb on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.

Work Environment:

  • Office setting will be primary work location.
  • Occasional work in distribution center warehouse with limited climate controls.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to other team members.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Must be proficient with 10-key operation and spreadsheet software (excel)
