Financial Analyst – Defense Sector

MoveAmerica is looking for a highly skilled Financial Analyst to provide comprehensive financial analysis and support to the DoD Office of Small Business Programs. The analyst will work closely with various DoD agencies, providing in-depth financial analysis, compliance oversight, and budget management. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of the defense sector.

  • Assist with contract setup, cost analysis, and proposal preparation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and support decision-making processes.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with OSBP and DoD agencies to develop, monitor, and manage budgets.
  • Perform cost analysis of small business programs and contracts to identify potential cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and assist in the preparation of financial reports.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments and evaluating financial viability and sustainability of small businesses within the defense sector.
  • Utilize various financial systems to carry out responsible actions while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and GAAP.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, preferably within the defense or government contracting sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and financial software tools.
  • Active Secret or Above Security Clearance.
