The VP, IT Finance & Portfolio Management leads the finance and portfolio management of the technology organization and is a direct report to the CIO. This role will include managing multiple teams to support these functions including FP&A, PMO, Capital Portfolio and Procurement.
The technology organization is entrusted to manage significant resources critical to the operations and growth of Aramark’s businesses. By the leading the finance and portfolio functions, this role is accountable for managing the responsible return on these invested resources. his role must lead by example, jumping in to own critical new initiatives established by line of business leaders and technology teams while leading across teams to guide financial acumen, project governance and execution. This role is for someone who thrives in strategic financial management, innovation, continuous improvement, and a passion for making our service experiences and cost transparency better in each Aramark account. This leader must be consumer- and operator-focused at the account level, data-driven, and must possess a strong bias for action to deliver results to win and retain Aramark accounts.
This technology leader will work directly with stakeholders throughout business and technology teams to understand areas of opportunity, drive financial transparency and develop and implement IT projects that will delight consumers and operators with best-in-class experiences where technology is in the background and simply works.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial Management
- Establish and govern the financial planning, analysis and reporting processes over $160M budget and $30M capital budget.
- Assist budget owners in improving financial acumen and enforcing ownership of budgets.
- Manage IT budget to gross amount and also understand and monitor recovery.
- Drive clarity in consumption of technology services and report out on consumption volumes.
- Assist leaders in developing service unit cost and drive improvements year over year.
- Partner with Vendor Management team and simplify billing and processing of consumption charges where possible.
- Oversee capital map and burn rate. Review capital expenditures requests and ensure capital investments are spent responsibly and return on investments are tracked.
- Drive Clarity in consumption vs non direct use of technology resources
- Drive simplification in our financial processes including billing and processing of consumption charges
- Guide service owners to understand their service unit costs to enable year over year productivity.
- Manage the financial resolution to the Vestis transition services agreement and resulting restructuring of Aramark services.
- Drive the discipline of achieving and tracking return on invested capital (project value realization)
- Assist in benchmarking technology services and related costs.
- Provide year over year analyst to be leverage with Aramark leaders
Portfolio Strategy and Leadership
- Sets and implements the strategy for governance and execution for the Sector Project Management office.
- Leads, mentors, develops talent with a continuous improvement mindset, identifies areas for process improvement and reporting, ensuring appropriate prioritization of team initiatives based on business impact and customer needs at the account level
- Formalize final acceptance for the project from the Project Owner by ensuring that the delivered product(s) and services comply with the agreed deliverables list and agreed scope
- Coach and mentor team to increase their skill sets
- Conduct performance reviews
- Ensure that the project team adheres to all security policies and standards
Line of Business Focus
- Maintains deep knowledge of the Aramark and LOB value proposition, client commercial structure and relationships, and value that technology brings to Aramark accounts and clients.
- Drives intimacy with the LOB by maintaining knowledge of future needs and priorities of internal clients and their external clients, engaging in strategic conversations, working in partnership across the matrix to deliver the end-result with positive consumer, operator, and client experiences IT Service Management
- In partnership with IT Service Management (Incident and Request Management), analyze data to proactively scope, cost, and propose technology refresh and remediation efforts across BUILD and RUN functions.
- Maintains deep knowledge of ITSM/ITIL practices and identifies opportunities to leverage and implement ITSM/ITIL to deliver process enhancements and improvements.
- Lead the definition and adoption of appropriate ITIL process in adoption of service excellence.
Qualifications
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in technical or finance focus required. A master’s degree in business administration or finance is preferred.
- Experience – 15+ years of experience in finance related field that also includes relevant experience in working with technology solutions or strategy in a hospitality business. 10+ years of Project Management experience demonstrating strong financial modeling and budgeting
- Communication – Ability to present and interface with both business and technical functions within a large complex organization. Success with influencing across a large, complex, highly matrixed product organization. Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated across all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge – Understand IT Service Management as it relates to process improvements, reporting, compliance, product management, and development methodologies
- Strategic thinker that has the ability to prioritize and manage a large portfolio of work with multiple stakeholders
- Strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps
