About You and this Role:
As an Accounting Specialist you will be responsible for providing consistent and quality cost accounting support services to the Packaging and Specialty Plastics Business in EMEAI . In your role, the accountant will support the production facilities as well as the site logistics and warehouse Operations. These responsibility areas can have very complex cost flows and will need a strong financial acumen. Your role requires an in-depth understanding of the business and functional structures, the inventory management and produce to plan work processes, and the functional business rules. In your role, US GAAP and local GAAP regulations need to be applied and it is very typical to demonstrate mature reporting and communication skills through presenting financial topics to cross functional partners and stakeholders.
Responsibilities :
Records cost accounting transactions accurately and in time to ensure the integrity of the business’ financial data. All account records and balances must be reconciled, reviewed and supported
Manages and sets-up cost-object master data and cost flows
Assists internal partners in managing their cost/expense performance and ensures expenses are recorded as per the accounting regulations
Proactively partners with the internal partners and perform cost/variance analyses and reporting
Completes product costing of materials (PCE), reviews for variances, and corrects/communicates results to business/plant management.
Performs product inventory reviews and assists with fixed asset reviews
Coordinates and assists internal partners to complete annual budgets, in line with Corporate, Business and Functional guidelines and timing
Performs Stock Take Observations and/or assist the production facilities in performing the periodic Cycle Counting work processes
Performs or supports the financial estimates for the P&SP Business and interacts with the business finance team
Identifies and appropriately communicates potential risks and identifies improvement opportunities
Ensures the highest degree of internal control and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
Supports internal partners in capital vs. expense decisions and monitors the appropriateness of recordings
Educates functional partners on Accounting Policies and internal control matters and advises on the potential impacts of their decisions.Resolves any problems identified as they arise
Has knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP and other supporting accounting regulations
Monitors and supports period end closing and control/follow-up actions
Provides audit support for annual internal/external Cost Accounting related audits
Qualifications:
A university degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics, and/or a qualified CMA/CA with 3+ or MBA/Inter CMA/Inter CA with 5+years of costing experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience in SAP ERP systems
Preferred Skills:
3-5 years of current/prior costing and accounting experience
Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation and training skills
Experience in SAP ERP systems
Ability to work independently
Able to handle multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines at the same time
Interest to work in an international organization
An organized and motivated self-starter, exhibiting good judgment and the flexibility to adapt to priority changes and demands.
Additional Notes:
Relocation is not available for this position.
