About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its team. The CFO will play a pivotal role in the financial and operational management of the organization, with a focus on strategic financial planning, budgeting, and decision support. This senior leadership position requires a candidate with a strong background in financial management, including experience in financial analysis, budget forecasting, and annual financial audits. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the financial health of the organization, maintaining a high-performing culture, and enhancing and maintaining the financial infrastructure.

Applicants for the CFO position at the company should be highly experienced financial professionals with a passion for the environment. The role demands a candidate who is knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Practices, familiar with financial software and emergent technology, and adept at leading the implementation of best practices. The CFO will also be expected to act as a business partner, providing financial advice and support to the Executive Directors and Boards. A hands-on approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment are essential. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a preference for a Master’s and/or CPA, and at least 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, particularly in a nonprofit setting.
