We are looking for a talented Financial Analyst to join our team specializing in Finance for our Components Business Segment hybrid out of Troy, MI.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Responsible for the preparation of analyses and reports for department managers.
- Supports the annual budget process, expense and/or staffing forecasts or statistical reporting.
- Prepares analyses and reports for department managers.
- Works with assigned organizational unit(s) to develop annual budgets, expense and staffing forecasts, and statistical reporting.
- Supports month end close.
- Prepares and consolidates financial data.
- Prepares statistical reporting, including financial performance, variance explanations, and cost analysis.
- Executes special projects as assigned.

- Financial Analysis – Interprets financial data by analyzing trends, variances, opportunities and risks to provide insight to stakeholders regarding financial impact to drive business improvement; evaluates financial results against targets to communicate conclusions to all stakeholders; ensures integrity of financial data by investigating variances and determining corrective actions to resolve identified issues.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
Experience
- Minimal relevant professional work experience in the field of study required.
Responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships with business partners and finance colleagues to maintain clear communication and understanding of financial results to drive sound decision making.
- Work closely with engineering team to understand costs and help illuminate action plans to remedy areas of concern.
- Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis: month-actuals vs AOP, month-actuals vs Forecast, quarterly Current Forecast vs Prior Forecast, quarterly – Current Forecast vs AOP (and other comparisons as needed).
- Support development of annual operating plan and quarterly forecast update.
- Support Global Engineering Capital Expenditure management (planning and spend tracking).
- Demonstrate ability to coordinate from idea to design through project implementations, always mindful of customer concerns.
- Supports process improvements within the Engineering or Product Strategy team and due to Cummins integration.
- Ability to present finance and accounting information effectively to all levels within the business.
