AZRA is a specialty niche reinsurer, domiciled in California and licensed as an admitted insurer in 36 states (including District of Columbia), and is a qualified, accredited, or approved reinsurer in fifteen states. AZRA is a property casualty reinsurer which writes both prospective and legacy reinsurance. AZRA has specific expertise in run-off management of U.S. legacy insurance liabilities. It services Allianz Group affiliates and third parties including third party claims administration of asbestos, environmental, workers compensation, general liability, and construction defect liabilities.
AZRA has approximately 150 employees located nationwide with the majority working on a remote basis.
Under minimal direction, the Finance Specialist is responsible for carrying out tasks within a specific Finance functional area of Financial Planning and Analysis. The Finance Specialist is able to handle highly complex matters and provide support to other areas within the Company including Claims and Operations. Specific tasks can include preparing required financial reports and analysis, creating quarterly financial forecast and projections and supporting the preparation of annual plans.
What you do:This position is located within the Financial Planning and Analysis Team, and can include the following:
Reporting & Analysis:
•Prepare monthly financial results reporting
•Provide detailed analysis of the results
•Support communication and presentation of the financial results
•Support data requests from Finance and Executive Management
Planning and Forecast:
•Assist in quarterly results projections, reporting detailed results and analysis to Munich colleagues
•Assist in annual planning process for income statement and balance sheet line items
•Lead and create the annual expense planning process
•Prepare and complete data uploads into company systems
Projects & Initiatives:
•Drive process improvements within immediate team and Finance department
•Participate in company-wide projects and initiatives as needed
•May have lead responsibilities for special projects
What you bring:
•Reinsurance and/or Insurance background preferred
•6-7 years of finance/accounting experience required
•4+ years of College level coursework in accounting or finance
•General knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and reporting requirements
•Ability to communicate effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines
•Knowledge of automated accounting systems (SAP Preferred) and Microsoft tools, including advanced excel skills
•Ability to analyze and interpret financial operating statements
•Ability to evaluate, summarize and present results of analyses
•If remote, willing to travel to California office, as needed
Base Salary Range $100,000 – $125,000Actual base salary may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program.
