Job Description:

  • Manages the District’s payroll and accounts payable processes to ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors and employees.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, supervising and mentoring a team of 4 individuals. Administers the District’s P-Card Program.
  • Manages Accounts Payable to include P-Cards, I-Procurement, and I-Expense.
  • Performs numerous reconciliations to confirm accurate financial records in the general ledger.
  • Monitors the District’s compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to accounts payable and payroll.
  • Compiles detailed metrics reports related to payroll, P-Cards, Accounts Payable and Cash Summaries.
  • Participates in local and statewide Payroll professional associations such as the American Payroll Association (APA).
  • Assists with compilation of data, reports, and prepared by client work papers for various audits including but not limited to Workers Compensation, Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB), Financial, Internal, and the Purchasing Card Program.

Job Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
  • Five years experience managing payroll process and ensuring compliance with complex FLSA laws and regulations.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
