Overview:

Keenan is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President of Finance to join our team at the Torrance, CA office. This leadership role will oversee the Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions within the Accounting Department, while holding ultimate responsibility for managing the company’s general ledger and financial statements.

Keenan, an Accretive company, is an insurance brokerage and consulting firm meeting the insurance needs of hospitals, public entities and California school districts. Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of: employee benefits, workers’ compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assumes responsibility for the month end close process and the timely and accurate reporting of Keenan financial results to the Keenan Leadership Team.
  • Preparation of requested information/analyses for Leadership and Upper Management on an as needed basis.
  • Provide the leadership team with advice on financial implications of business activities and provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensure favorable and unfavorable financial results are communicated in a timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the platform leadership team by department and/or functional area as appropriate to understand their needs and to support their initiatives. Demonstrate understanding of the structure and mechanics of each of Keenans P&L, WC, and Benefits.
  • Be responsible for the operation of A/R, A/P, Payroll Department, Setech, Client Svcs Accounting, and PCA Departments.
  • Demonstrate detailed understanding of the Keenan Company Structure and relevant operations.
  • Understand and Provide signoffs for all pricing company-wide.
  • Chief signer (Agreements/Bank Accounts/Checks/Wires).
  • Integral participation within the Keenan Compensation Committee.
  • Familiarity with all Keenan products and the underlying client and exposure detail of each.
  • Review and supervise preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting package prior to submission for CEO, COO Agency President, and Regional CFO Review.
  • Significant involvement in the preparation of the Annual Budget by functional department/office.
  • Monthly forecasting and ongoing monitoring and revision of all numbers and communication to various levels of management.
  • Manage the annual external audit and internal audit as required.
  • Ensures effective internal controls are implemented through the timely and accurate reporting of monthly consolidated financial results and supported through an effective well coordinated Internal Control structure that is in line with goals for IPO Readiness and appropriate for internal control testing by either the Audit firm or a representative (Internal Audit / Protiviti).
  • Manage all State and local tax forms and submissions independently or in coordination with Corporate Tax as required.
  • Monitor and review all Captive (Meritage) transactions (Reserves/Claim payments/expenses/Investments/Investment Reporting) Reporting and Audit (Calendar/Fiscal).
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the Production Process and the rules specific to each business type. Review and provide approval for Production bonuses, and other employee bonuses throughout the year.
  • Coordination of information requests of the Accounting Department from other departments within the company and Corporate as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of accounting, FP&A and/or corporate finance experience, including supervisory experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Experience with a G/L or Accounting package is required. Workday experience is a plus.

Compensation:

The target salary range for this position is up to $225,000.00 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicants education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicants geographic location. Remote work environment flexibility.
