Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Auditor to join our team. The Staff Auditor will be responsible for conducting audits of financial statements, internal controls, and accounting processes for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audit and public accounting, with excellent analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute financial audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
Conduct testing of internal controls and identify any deficiencies or areas for improvement
Analyze financial statements and other relevant documentation to assess accuracy and completeness
Prepare audit workpapers and reports to document findings and recommendations
Communicate audit results and recommendations to clients in a clear and professional manner
Collaborate with team members to ensure audits are completed on time and within budget
Maintain a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and apply them to audit procedures
Assist with training and development of junior audit staff
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
CPA certification preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, preferably in audit
Strong knowledge of GAAP and GAAS
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
Ability to travel to client sites as needed
