Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities:
What Were Looking For:
Iridium is seeking a talented and motivated Tax Manager to join our Tax team. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for technical tax projects, including research, planning, and analysis. You will also perform activities for the tax department including US federal, state, and international income and non-income tax matters, tax compliance, and tax accounting. This position offers the ideal candidate the opportunity to work in a managerial role that handles all areas of tax. What Youll Do:
- Be responsible for proactive tax planning to minimize global income & indirect taxes, including research, development, and implementation of tax planning strategies
- Be responsible for the management and successful implementation of tax-related special projects including planning, research, and modeling of the tax implications of special projects
- Manage joint venture partnership tax matters including proactive planning, forecasting, partner management, tax compliance, and tax accounting
- Participate in the preparation of the annual and quarterly US GAAP global income tax provision under ASC 740 in One Source Tax Provision software
- Participate in the preparation of tax related SEC filings and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance
- Participate in the timely completion of the US Federal, state, and foreign income and non-income tax compliance
- Build upon and utilize your breadth of knowledge in the tax area and touch all areas of tax
- Work extensively with upper management and cross-functional teams within the Company
Experience & Education Requirements / EEO:
What Youll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a tax concentration within an Accounting program
- 8+ years of federal & state tax accounting and compliance experience working in public accounting or corporate in-house; will consider five years of concentrated experience
- Previous experience preparing tax provisions under ASC 740
- Strong corporate and partnership tax experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel
- A professional demeanor with the ability to work closely with colleagues and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
- A self-starter mindset with ability to prioritize key tasks and complete assignments within strict time constraints and deadlines
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present your work and analysis to management and colleagues in other departments
- A high degree of self-motivation with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, to complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
- Ability to work extensively with upper management and cross functional teams within the Company
- A natural, acute attention to detail, coupled with strong organizational skills
- Excellent project management, analytical, and interpersonal, skills
- A highly analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions
- Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others
- Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
- Graduate degree
- Public accounting experience
- CPA license strongly
- Previous experience using OneSource tax provision software
Work Environment:
This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
